[mythtv-users] Media Keys on Remote

Hi all,

I am struggling to get my media keys (play, volume, etc.) working on my Adesso ARC-1100 remote. The Adesso doesn't use Lirc and looks like a standard keyboard. Most of the keys work right out of the box, but it looks like some daemon is picking up the media keys before I can remap them using xmodmap.  

When I press them, I get the notifyOSD OSD windows.  I initially thought it was xfce4-volumed, but I disabled it and even uninstalled the package.

Has anyone else run into something like this?

Here is the results from xev when I press the "Up" key which works:

Here is the result when I press the "Play" key which doesn't work but shows the notifyOSD pop-up for the play button:
