Same callsign (whatever value you want to use for it) tells MythTV that 
"this channel" rules apply to that channel, regardless of source.

Same callsign /and/ channel number tells MythTV that it should only 
appear once in the guide.

If you choose to use different callsigns, you can specify which source 
to use with "this channel" rules--but it /will/ appear twice in the 
guide, even if you use the same channel number, so that you can choose 
which one to use for "this channel" rules.
