[mythtv-users] Upgrade Mythbuntu to 12.04 but staying on Mythtv 0.23

I am currently on Mythbuntu 10.04. Due to various features later versions of Mythtv have 
lost, e.g. DVD ripping, Film Times, etc., I would like to stay on Mythtv 0.23 while upgrading 
to the Ubuntu LTS 12.04 OS in order to continue to get OS security updates etc. after 
support or 10.04 ends in April.

Is this possible by freezing the versions of Mythtv components in Synaptic? If so, which 
items need to be frozen to ensure there won't be any problems with some Mythtv 
components updating while others do not? Maybe there is also a better way to achieve this.
