All of the options that precede the bare "--" are options to the
"start-stop-daemon" command. On Gentoo, this is a link to /sbin/rc.
So, none of the options through "--background" are passed to
mythbackend. In this example, only "--verbose" and "--logfile" go to
mythbackend. That's why you don't see "--background" in "mythbackend
--help".
This init script is for Myth 0.24, where --logfile is correct.
