Yes, exactly.  (Well spotted, too.  :)

I completely agree with you, though, Jeremy--MS Outlook threading is 
broken to the point of being basically useless (haven't played around 
enough with outlook.com/formerly hotmail.com to know if it's true there, 
too--but I will say outlook.com is a /huge/ improvement over 
hotmail.com).  And, while Google's threading is much better than 
Outlook's, it seems to be about the same as T-bird's.
