Yes, you need the CableCard version. 

Mine works very nicely. It took a couple of times to get the correct CableCard, and then a week to reach the person at the special CableCard support number to figure out why it wasn't able to decrypt (it had been provisioned as a STB rather than a CableCard). 

The HD is very clear. My Myth box is able to handle recording at least two HD channels, and once it was able to handle 2 x HD and a SD. 

Comcast will likely charge you an extra $10 a month "Outlet Fee." Bastards. 


I still have my digital tuner cards. I plan on getting rid of my STB and connecting the cards to an antenna. That way I can get the digital OTA channels if I ever ditch Comcast entirely.

So it's happened ... comcast encrypted everything. 


What are my options? I guess it's time to upgrade to the HDHomeRun Prime? What should I know? It's the HDHR3-CC that I want, correct?
