Depending on the kernel & driver version, it is known to generate
special issues.

Anything that places loads on the bus or the interrupt lines
(and that includes all your other hardware too) might result
in issues if the xHCI module is loaded.  Remember, correlation

Depending on your how your kernel is compiled (and your
kernel boot process), you can often blacklist the xHCI driver,
and force load the alternative drivers.
