i have my backend using the acpi wakeup. it has worked reliably since i
setup the server for over one year. the last couple of weeks it has
missed some wakeups. in trying to troubleshoot it, i found it was waking
up too early, then shutting down and given the same previous wakeup time
which at that point was in the past and then it would never wakeup
unless i noticed it. this happened today when it shut at 2:02 pm, it
should have been set to wakeup at 7pm, but woke at 2:20 pm and did not
wake at 7pm the log below shows it was given the same exact time when it
shut and 2:02 and when it shut at 2:34

from my pm-suspend log i get this.
Thu Dec 5 14:02:31 PST 2013: performing suspend
Thu Dec 5 14:32:56 PST 2013: Awake.
Thu Dec 5 14:34:51 PST 2013: Running hooks for suspend
i believe because of bad time given by backend; it never wakes, until i
wake it.
it is happening more frequently now probably about 1 out 4 scheduled
wakeups, the others work as expected.
if anybody has any troubleshooting ideas please let me know. i am on .27
fixes and do the updates daily. i think this may have started after an
update.
