well... go figure..

I swapped my keyboard and ir receiver ports...
PC crash... rebooted...

ir-keytable now did show something.

So I restored my /etc/lirc backup; re-ran lircd and it's all working again....

hopefully, no one is going to sneeze and break it again...

now.. how do I remove that 3.8 kernel and go back to 12.04 ...
