Looking through that code, there is actually only one single place where 
the CEC support is actually used, and that is to turn the TV on and off 
through MythTV's keypress handling. There is nothing that will turn the 
TV on or off automatically when you open or close mythfrontend. It is 
only triggered when you press the buttons you have mapped to TVPOWERON 
and TVPOWEROFF.

Perhaps this is some issue related to DPMS, and your TV is automatically 
going into standby when it receives the DPMS signal?
