And say good bye to some file data at some point.  Not unmounting file
systems leaves some of their data in the cache and just yanking the plug
means you lose what's in the cache and not yet on disk when you yank.

Yes, you could use a journalling file system but take note that by
default it's only metadata that's journalled so while you won't need to
fsck when you boot back up, you still lost that file data that was not
flushed before you yanked the plug.

Not a good practice to get into the habit of.

But do nothing to mitigate the above.
