In retrospect I should have written that better: I wasn't implying that 
it was a bug, however, the 'fix' that worked with 1.6.x wasn't working 
with 1.7.1.30059 (at least with a Rev D unit, did work with a Rev E 
one). I haven't really had time to properly explore why at this time.
