Does the tuner work outside of MythTV on the slave machine?
Could it be faulty?
Did the tuner's kernel modules reload successfully when you restarted the slave?
Have you checked your database health via the optimize_mythdb script recently?

To rule out a sync issue: did you shut down the SBE (slave BE) first
and then the MBE (master BE), before bringing the MBE back up first,
followed by the SBE?

What does the relevant tuner's status show in mythfrontend's System
Status tuner page?
