Of course you could make the claim that init systems should be 
sanitizing the environment, and not passing through ttys.  This behavior 
has not changed in 0.25, however now only the master backend or any 
mythtv-setup instance can update the core schema.  Slave backends and 
mythfrontend are no longer allowed to.
