I tried to reset the metadata but seemed to run foul of the following bug:

Since this appears to have been fixed a couple of months ago... and I 
update from the mythbuntu fixes repo about once a week... I'm not sure 
what's going on.

So I'll have to leave it until I can dig deeper tonight to see if it's 
loading tv metadata from thetvdb now.
