Right.  See, also, http://www.mythtv.org/wiki/Playback_profiles , which 
gives a nice summary view of some of the example Playback Profile 
groups.  (I intend to eventually update it for the new 0.25 ones, but 
haven't gotten around to it, yet.)

That said, the difference between 0.24 and 0.25 is that the CPU++, CPU+, 
and CPU-- Playback Profile groups were removed.  Those groups were the 
ones that used XvMC and PVR-350 decoder and such (the things we no 
longer support in 0.25).  So, if your 0.24 system can work without 
those, it will also support 0.25 just fine.
