[mythtv-users] distorted recordings after system upgrade

A few weeks ago my myth box wouldn't boot properly anymore, so I decided it
was time to build a (mostly) new one.
I got a new motherboard (Asus P8H77-V LE), new CPU (Core i3 2160), new
graphics card (Asus ENGT430) and new RAM.
I reused the case, harddrive and tuner cards (Dvico ATSC) from my existing
system. I didn't reinstall, I just reconfigured the existing install for
the new network, audio and video devices.

The problem is that all new recordings appear to be corrupted in some way.
They play back, but with distorted video and audio, even if I play them
with mplayer or vlc on another machine. Existing previous recordings play
back fine.
Live TV suffers from the same problem, on all tuners. There are no messages
about failures of any kind in either the kernel log or the mythtv logs.
Signal strength appears to be OK; incoming signal goes through a 4-way
amplifier (same as with the old machine), of which 3 go to the 3 tuner
cards, and the 4th goes to the TV, which shows near-full signal strength
and has perfect picture/sound quality. When I do a channel scan in
mythtv-setup though, I get timeouts on pretty much every channel. Not sure
if that's just a feature of the channel scan, since I can flip channels in
Live TV mode just fine (distorted audio/video aside)

Anybody have any idea what might be wrong, or what I could do to debug it
further?
