Richard,

There was a recent but that was preventing HLS from starting properly.
 That has been fixed and is in .25-fixes.  Make sure that you are update to
date as of yesterday, i believe.  Then the HLS should start.  Also, go to
the jwplayer pluging at http://master_backend:6544/ and verify the stream
is up and running and plays successfully in the browser.  Once your master
backend is up to date, it should start playing fine.
