If you are not using IPV6 on your network, might be a good idea to 
disable it on your machines

On ubuntu, add the following to /etc/sysctl.conf and either reboot or 
run sudo sysctl -p

# IPv6
net.ipv6.conf.all.disable_ipv6 = 1
net.ipv6.conf.default.disable_ipv6 = 1
net.ipv6.conf.lo.disable_ipv6 = 1

There are reports that disabling ipv6 will increase network speed on ipv4.
