I get that "Host name may not be null" issue.
Fresh mythtv 0.25 installation on gentoo.

What does the URL have to look like?

I use the syntax with the plain IP

http://192.168.0.1:6544

Is the port correct? I see my mythtv-server listen on 6543 as well.
