[mythtv-users] LONG delay exiting the frontend

Hi all -

I have set up a second Myth BE/FE for a second home. It's basically the
same setup as my main BE/FE, running JYA's latest binaries on Ubuntu 10.04
LTS; this one has an old dual-core Athlon 3GHz processor and 4GB RAM.

All seems to be OK except for one issue:

It takes a *very* long time to exit the frontend - up to a minute and a
half. In the frontend log, I see this:

QProcess: Destroyed while process is still running.
mount: can't find /dev/sde in /etc/fstab or /etc/mtab
2012-01-28 21:28:13.034 Failed to mount /dev/sde.
QProcess: Destroyed while process is still running.
mount: can't find /dev/sdf in /etc/fstab or /etc/mtab
2012-01-28 21:28:43.080 Failed to mount /dev/sdf.
QProcess: Destroyed while process is still running.
mount: can't find /dev/sdg in /etc/fstab or /etc/mtab
2012-01-28 21:29:13.123 Failed to mount /dev/sdg.
QProcess: Destroyed while process is still running.
mount: can't find /dev/sdh in /etc/fstab or /etc/mtab
2012-01-28 21:29:43.167 Failed to mount /dev/sdh.
2012-01-28 21:29:48.318 Deleting UPnP client...
Error in my_thread_global_end(): 1 threads didn't exit

Searching on the mailing list, using the "QProcess" line as a search key,
I found a couple of very old entries (2009), also associated with long
delay in startup or exit, and which claimed that this was fixed with the
update to nVidia's 180.35 drivers. Both BE/FEs are running 256.53. The
main BE/FE does not have this issue and there are no entries like this in
its frontend logs.

It's trying to mount devices/drives that don't actually exist. This
machine has four hard drives, /sda through /sdd; /sde through /sdh are
associated with a memory card reader which is installed in the box, but
has no memory cards inserted. It appears to take about 30 seconds to time
out on each of them, so it appears to be the main cause of the long delay
in exiting the frontend. Obviously this should have nothing to do with
video drivers. Any way to stop it from trying to mount these?

Thanks in advance for any help.
Bob
