Because people have to test MythTV 0.25's VAAPI support or it'll never work? :-)
So FWIW, I tried changing the normal playback profile's rendered from ffmpeg+xvideo to ffmpeg+opengl and also tried opengl-lite.
Both opengl's blow up as soon as you try to watch TV so it seems that opengl is the culprit rather than openglvaapi.  Blow up = MythFrontEnd restarts.

The system is a fairly hefty box running a 2500K and 16GB of RAM since it's also a VirtualBox server and Myth backend (backend seems to suck about 11% of CPU)...VirtualBox takes up roughly 30% of CPU...
