Not the point. Your /recording/ happens on a backend, it's just that the menus 
to set recording parameters are accessable via a front-end menu.

It's possible that when you do a manual recording, the default profile is 
different to the one that you 'chose' (defaulted, really) when you set up your 
scheduled recording.

What do you mean when you say "recording via the EPG?" A scheduled recording is 
a scheduled recording, wherever you set it up from. I find that it is easier to 
set all mine via mythweb, personal preferences vary. Are you just making 
"one-off" recordings via different methods?
