Good for you.  I wish many more would do this.  I did it for Comcast in my
region five or six years ago, and have had to do it a few times since.  I
have seen it mostly happen when they add new channels.  Copy protection is
often enforced because very few people care and it is easier and safer to
enforce it by default.

People often think that if it is copy protected, then they are out of luck.
 This is not always true.  The squeaky wheel gets the oil!  Speak up!
