[mythtv-users] "Scan For Changes" behaviour in Video Display Menu causes confusion

There was a thread around this topic last month but I'm reopening it 
under a more general Subject.

Video files are identified internally by their hash values, but their 
on-screen name is the one that first had that hash; it doesn't change if 
the file is renamed.

I knew that, but was still briefly puzzled when I copied in, under a new 
name, a file (in fact a MythArchive mythburn.iso file) that was already 
linked into one of my video directories, and it didn't show.

I suppose it would have showed if I had used mv and not cp, but I feel 
it would be helpful to have a menu option to forget all hashes; or might 
there be another way to help the confused?
