[mythtv-users] Long-postponed MySQL upgrades - pitfalls?

I'm back up and running, thanks to all.  I hit a rough patch for a
while, I suspect because I'm running Gentoo.  After the MySQL upgrade I
needed to do a "revdep-rebuild", which triggered about a half-dozen
packages to be rebuilt against the new MySQL libraries.  I was able to
do the binary upgrade.

Through this it turns out that Gentoo is at MySQL-5.1, not 5.5 as I had
first thought.  I'm upgrading my client-only machines now.
