Although these impose some load on my system, they are not eating all my
CPU.  This behavior differs from the OP and the bug just posted to this
thread.

I start mythfrontend from the command line with no arguments, which
explains why I'm not seeing anything in syslog, though not why all the
logservers are running.

Are there any tools for looking at logs in the database (or purging
them)?  The relevant table seems to be 'logging'.
