FWIW, there's a major project on my list that involves making a generic 
media metadata format for MythTV, which would mean there's no real 
difference between Video Library and Watch Recordings metadata, so at 
that point, you'll be able to "move" recordings to Video Library (or 
vice versa***) without any external scripts, like mythvidexport.py.  The 
project will also include major changes to organization and sorting and 
filtering capabilities (in both places--as there will basically be no 
difference).  You'd be able to do basically everything you want.

If someone wants to mow my lawn, today, I could put in a couple hours of 
work on it...  ;)
