Do you know if your streams are 100% transcoded? I play HLS streams on apple devices and their player doesn't like to seek on a "live" program.

If your client is able to recognize and use existing streams then you could start a stream, go away for an hour, and then come back and try playing it after myth has converted 100% of the recording to HLS segments.
