One alternative--if you're unable to write a patch--is to create a time 
bubble around me, that would allow me to spend 30-40 years developing 
code for MythTV in what, to the rest of the universe, seems to be one 
day.  I'd be happy to provide references to relevant Stargate SG-1 
episodes that you can use to help work out the process (I got stuck in 
my attempts to solve the problem).

Bonus points if you can figure out a way to make sure I don't actually 
age 30-40 years while in the bubble, so I can get back to my...
