You're using an 11-month old version of MythTV.  This issue was fixed 8 
months ago.

I recommend either:
   a) updating to current 0.24-fixes
   b) updating to the just-released 0.25-fixes

You will want to use a -fixes branch, though--and not a release 
tarball--for exactly this reason:  so you can pick up fixes for bugs.

If you're building from source, see:

http://code.mythtv.org/trac

and follow the instructions for "*Stable:* If you'd like to get the 0.25 
stable branch, do this:".  Then, to pick up fixes, simply do a "git 
pull" and then recompile/re-install.

If you're using packages, ask other users of your distro how to enable 
the -fixes repository/packages/... on your distro.  For example, for 
Ubuntu, you can use:  http://www.mythbuntu.org/repos
