[mythtv-users] subtitle troubleshooting

I'm trying to narrow down trouble I'm having with subtitles (so far
I've just been trying embedded subtitles in mkv files)
They used to work fine, but at some point in trunk they stopped
functioning.  I didn't see anything in commits about it, nor have I
found anything in my logs to point to why they aren't displaying.
I've tried adding -v playback,important,general but I still don't see
any errors in the logs.  Any thoughts as to what to look at?
