That depends on your version of MythTV.  0.25 gets its video list from 
the same tables formerly used by MythVideo.  0.24 and previous used its 
own independent tables and automatic scanner, for the purpose of always 
remaining populated even if you never run the frontend in order to 'scan 
for videos'.  Note that in 0.24 and previous, it uses the old local 
folder definition in MythVideo to scan from, and that must be defined by 
running the frontend on your master backend.
