[mythtv-users] Is there an easy way to run script just after a recording finishes

I have my myth box connected to a directv box. Now, from time to time the remote is pressed changing the channel mid recording.  There is a code you can send (I have added it to directv.pl and it does work) that prevents the box responding to remote/front panel key presses, and one to unlock.  I would like to lock the box during the channel change script it unlock it once the recording has finished.  Is there an easy way to do this other than a script that would query the db when the recording should finish and run the unlock then.  Any clever ideas?
