was looking at *format_to_mode() does not recognize V4L1.* Through some
digging I found this bug thread
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/mythtv/+bug/717717. It states that
V4L header files are not included in the latest kernel.

The thread also says it has been fixed in the mythbuntu nightly repos which
I tried but still as of today, doesn't seem to have fixed the issue. For
reference, I am using an HDPVR and just recently updated to 11.04 with the
2.6.38 kernel. Synaptic says I have *
2:0.24.0+fixes.20110511.97118ac-ubuntu0mythbuntu3* as the current installed
mythtv-backend version. I also tried the *test2* ppa listed at the end of
that bug thread and didn't seem to fix the issue either.

If you or someone else can give some more advice that would be great. I'd
rather not build mythtv from source, but if someone has some good
information on how to do it on 11.04 I'd be willing to give it a shot if it
will fix this issue.

Thanks
