While the story seems to hold up, and that does appear to be an 1800
stripped of everything but the two tuner inputs, that's really a strange
looking card.
You've got a couple problems with this. First off, there still remain
issues with the HVR-1800 with recording analog on MythTV. Analog works
fine in Linux, but there is a conflict with MythTV that no one has yet
taken the time to root out. It should work fine as a digital tuner.
Second, the card likely has a different PCI ID than the standard
HVR-1800, meaning the driver will not automatically pick it up. You
will probably have to write up a board profile, and recompile the driver.
If you know anything about driver design, and you intend to buy several
of these, it may be worth your time to try to resolve these issues.
Otherwise, you're probably better off just picking up a new HVR-2250.
