Devin, 

I'm sure you are correct, but there is an old saying: "Nothing ventured, nothing gained." If nothing else I'll get to play around with raw data analysis and maybe learn something that can be applied elsewhere. 



The reason I approached the Open Source Community is because I can get existing source code for applications such as MythTV. Source code that I can modify and share back with the community if I get it to work as I envision. 



The whole project is going to take me into the bowels of Ubuntu Linux. I have a multi-display workstation I need to build, and configure. With that all said, It is an ambitious project.

I have a feeling that quencumber256 has a fundamental misunderstanding
