'od' stands for _o_ctal _d_ump, and it is a standard application that
should come with any Linux distribution.

I have a feeling you probably want to write your own application, or
even just use the DVB command line tools to manage the tuner, rather
than spend the time configuring MythTV for a completely different
purpose than it was designed for.
