   ...actually, these three UI/input elements right here do vary considerably. 
They can be suited to the individual that's using them while still maintaining
compliance with other more "fundemental" standards like USB or RS-232.

    Some standards actually improve flexibility and usefulness while others
just hinder it.

    Any potentially useful concept needs to be applied in a thoughtful manner 
in order for it to actually be useful.

    Trying to conflate keyboards with gas pumps is about as mindless as it
gets.
