Grasping at straws, but I wonder if the error message is a little 
obscure in that one of the '.c' or '.h' files required to build 
moc_system_unix.o is the file which is truncated. (I've never seen that 
error before).

Maybe a careful parse of the Makefile might disclose something is missing.
