yes, I am using MythWeb, which apparently lists it differently for the
same setting? If not, then perhaps a ticket should be opened to ensure
at some point the MythWeb options mimic those in the frontend? I
currently find it much easier to set recording schedules with MythWeb,
but this could make it no better.

my concern with disabling "Reschedule higher priorities" is that for
tv series I like the behavior of recording the slightly later showing
of a new episode if that means it can record other series that don't
have a slightly later airing of the new episode. right now this works
perfectly. It's just sports that I think could use an override for
this.
