passthrough option was only added to master, and is my backport 0.24 branch.

Certainly not in vanilla fixes/0.24.

The passthrough option, I have to say, I have no clue if it works, nor
if it is usable.

I tested it in FIFO mode only, and I find it useless as timestamps are
completely lost.
