It does - but as I say, it was working before... and now it's not!
When I tried re-compiling/installing - it failed.

Having said all that, the system then got into a state where it would not
boot at all.
Given that I had also been unable to get the touch-screen on my case to work
(it too mysteriously stopped working a while back, having worked just fine
previously), and it had started refusing to resume from suspend-to-ram, I
decided that rather than try and fix all of these little strange oddities, I
would start afresh - with a different distro :)

So I installed Fedora yesterday.  Which has the benefit of being "supported"
(ahem) by my oldest friend, who has - to his chagrin - been giving me
computer support in areas that have befuddled me since we were at school
together. :)
Now I just need to convince him to pop by for "dinner". ;)
