No, in fact, in the context of a web interface, he is exactly hitting
the point on the head.  Properly written web interfaces (i.e. those not
constrained to a given window size and wasting the space around them)
are supposed to render the page such that it flows and fits the canvas
they are working on.  The bigger your canvas, the more data you see
inside your scroll window.

Granted, some sizing assumptions should be made so as to not make it an
interface that has scrollbars and scrolls off of the screen of the
majority of/average user(s), but having more real-estate than that
assumption should not result it in being wasted down to a lowest common
denominator.

Great.  Just don't make that the limitation for users with more space.
