Interesting.  I wonder why I'm having issues.  Are you using
scaling_min_freq to slow down the processor when it's not under load?
I've heard that on some AMD system that can slow the whole bus down
which affects the GPU as well.

I'll give Vdpau slim a try and see what happens.
