hate to bring up an old thread, but this is happening to one of my
parent's frontends as well. they are definitely not changing it
manually, but every so often they stop getting 5.1 output and when my
dad checks the audio settings it's back to stereo. he then changes it
to 5.1 and it's fine, for a brief time.
they're running 0.24-fixes through mythbuntu and are using spdif
output to their receiver.
