That is true, I am using Mythbuntu.  I never realized /var/lib/mythtv/recordings was a Mythbuntu thing.

MythTV does not have a default directory it uses for recording storage.  The '/var/lib/mythtv/recordings' path is one used by Mythbuntu.  If anything is in fact adding this directory back, it would be Mythbuntu.
