It's not a matter of power-- it's a matter of hardware decoders only
being able to decode within a limited set of encoding parameters.
VDPAU can't decode every Divx file just as it can't decode every H.264
file, or every MPEG-2 file, or every VC-1 file... it can only decode
those which match the strict parameters the hardware is capable of
decoding.  If you want your files to be decodable by VDPAU, then you
need to encode them to match the parameters specified in the README of
the nVidia drivers.
