[mythtv-users] Firewire errors during recording

I am using LINHES 6.03. I believe it is still using 2.6.28 so maybe updating
the kernel will solve some problems. 

To be honest I am assuming that all the mpeg2video errors are related to the
jumpy playback and pixilation. I haven't actually tried to check the times
in the log versus the times in the recording.

As I mentioned I am using the built in channel changer control versus an
outside script so there is no "priming" performed just before every
recording like some of the scripts do. Does the priming help with recording
reliability/quality or just getting the initial lock? Also the setting in
myth setup, do they affect recording/quality?
