Hi,
I have Hauppauge TD-500. It works but tends to stop working after a few days.
After a few days of flawless operation MythTV stops recording shows and trying
to watch Live TV gives black screen with messages about not being able to lock
the channel.
Let me qualify this: MythTV does not actually stop recordng shows. It seems to
record them, i.e. they appear in the list of recorded shows, but when I want
to view a recently recorded show I get this message in console:
2011-01-13 19:21:38.145 PlaybackBoxHelper Error: CHECK_AVAILABILITY
'myth://192.168.1.1:6543/1257_20110113184500.mpg' file not found
I can watch all the old shows.
So it is a tuner lock-up problem. I need some stop-gap solution that does not
require reboot. Starting and stopping mythtv does not help. Hence it seems to
be a driver issue. But when I try to restart the relevant module using
sudo /etc/init.d/mythtv-backend stop
sudo rmmod dvb_usb_dib0700
sudo modprobe dib7000p
sudo /etc/init.d/mythtv-backend start
I get "MythTV uses all inputs but no recording is active" when trying Live TV
and in System info I get "Tuner 1 error, Tuner 2 error". So the module reload
makes the situation worse.
Is there a better workaround? Reboots always fix it but reboots are
undesirable.
